Specializing in high-design residential and wineries, we bring structure to the process of building or remodeling. Our emphasis is on successful collaboration—a reflection of good communication, a thorough understanding of goals and the overall project context—as well as expert knowledge of construction methods, details, and craftsmanship.

We’re proudly based in Paso Robles, CA, and serve clients across the Central Coast, the San Francisco Bay Area, the greater Los Angeles Area, and beyond. Our work isn’t limited by location—we’ve completed projects throughout California, in several other states, and even internationally, including for a client in Australia.

Our Mission

We put people first.

We apply the same driving force of compassionate design utilizing insightful details with a big-picture approach.

We trust the process—avoiding rush, allowing ideas to unfold naturally. What settles out? What rises to the surface? Because of this, we discover the essential core, the hidden gem of each project.

We take the time to get to the heart of what really matters.

Our Values

Catch Architecture was founded as a people-first firm. Our highest hope is for your comfort.

We believe in the strength of Communication -

It can make or break our process, draw out important details, educate, and empower.

We believe in the power of Listening with a purpose -

We listen deeply not just to what is said, but to the parts that are left unsaid. This is often where the magic happens.

We believe in the importance of Trust -

It is the baseline for professionalism and accountability. Our approach is upfront - we demystify and simplify the process, setting manageable expectations from start to finish.

We believe in the necessity of Transparency -

We’re clear from the beginning, taking the time to illuminate the path.

We believe in the value of Being of Service -

Leading with openness, approachability, and generosity.

Nina Nazarov Hambly

PRINCIPAL ARCHITECT + founder

A former tiny home dweller and Airstream aficionado, Nina Hambly is a free spirit at heart. Raised by engineers, she’s grounded by the long line of accomplished women behind her. She’s found the perfect balance in architecture, where her creativity and love of process can happily coexist. Nina finds everyday joy in hanging out with her dogs, cooking dinners with her husband, and exploring wine country.

From dreamy homes to tasting rooms, Nina creates meaningful design for the goals and concepts of each project. She has an ability to really listen, drawing out and articulating a client’s vision, before master planning with a high level of expertise and attention to detail.

Nina leads with curiosity and openness. She founded Catch to build and foster connection, advocate for the simple joys of being human, and listen fervently to her client’s hopes and dreams.

Nina was recently featured in “SAY IT LOUD,” at the 2023 American Institute of Architects national convention. She received her Bachelor of Architecture from California State Polytechnic University-San Luis Obispo. She spent a year studying at the Danish Institute of Study Abroad where she honed her minimalist design chops and developed a true obsession for mid-century furniture.

In pursuit of fluency in French, he attended a Swiss high school in Bogota and later spent six months in France. He comes from a family of architects and was sure of his path from the beginning.

A project designer and job captain who loves to develop out-of-the-box creative design concepts, he brings solid design experience and a strong point of view. He’s determined to always bring new ideas to the table.

His awards include two honorable mentions and a third-place prize won as an up-and-coming designer in Bogota. Additionally, Pablo was selected by Architizer as one of a hundred finalists in the 2020 One Drawing Challenge. He’s also lectured about the evolution of the villa. He’s convinced that good design can bring joy, happiness, and just simply make life better.

Alush Nushi

SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

Alush loves to spend time outdoors, especially when standing at the grill, and his grandkids keep him on the move. He enjoys camping, competitive shooting, and both scuba and freediving.

He is a builder at heart. One of his earliest memories is of moving a house and riding on the roof lifting power cables with a forked board and walking down the ridgeline as the house passed underneath… Years of hands-on experience in the family business give him a broad knowledge of the building trades and make him uniquely valuable to our team.

As a senior project manager with almost 40 years of experience under his belt, he reviews documents for constructability, coordination, and expertly leads teams through all the stages of project development.

Moises De La Cruz

Architectural Designer

Moises’ creative pastimes are wonderfully diverse and explorative. From playing the guitar and songwriting, moviemaking, and web designing, to photographing the Milky Way. He explores different mediums, and exposes himself to as many genres as possible, always keeping an open and curious mind. This curiosity was further sparked when as a teenager he would help his Acapulco-born father with his window cleaning business in Sonoma County. Gazing at a variety of different homes, small and large in wine country. It was then he decided to pursue a career in architecture, which he later discovered had always been a dream of his fathers.

In the office, Moises loves to deconstruct the complexities of assembling construction documents, analyzing the fine details, and arranging the presentation to be clear, concise, and seamless.

Moises graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, in June of ‘22 with a Bachelor of Architecture and a minor in Sustainable Environments. He envisions a future of designing elevated spaces, which enable clients to have meaningful and artful experiences, from the comfort of their homes.

And let’s not forget our official door greeter…
